Dear botanical printers
I have attached the free PDF for the isolation of the dye from the common Reed, Phragmites australisis. I hope you enjoy making your own dye foraged locally. This dye produces beautiful apple green on silk, wool and cotton and lovely deeper shades of greens with additional iron.
Last autumn I formed a global network of eco-printers and we are planning to use the common reed dye this year. Currently there are 140 members world wide. You can see all the members on the map.
I have an exciting proposal that we might network as a group this August/September via zoom or social platforms to celebrate the flowering of the common reed and share our work, methods and results. Please keep in touch via Instagram or social media and of course you are very welcome to email me.
